Dormitory

University Residence Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (hereinafter abbreviated as Unires) is a dwelling or student dormitory of UMY. The existence of this Unires originated from the desire of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta to have a representative student dormitory for student coaching. The aim is to provide students and students with a personal and Islamic guidance for UMY students. Apparently tit for tattoos, the wish received a response from the government program that provides grants Simple Housing Rental (RUSUNAWA) to private universities as a shelter for students.

UMY got three twin blocks of Rusunawa design and technically converted into cross blocks with internal facilitation fund. One building is located north of the campus and the other two are south. Then Rusunawa with the name of Unires was inaugurated by the minister of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia on February 29, 2008.

Unires used since inaugurated with a trial program for one semester and only on female students. After that officially used for students one building in the north and female students in two buildings south. Each year Unires gave birth to about 300 students.
